| Epoxy Coating a Garage Floor |
|
So your tools are finally the way you like them, hanging neatly on an outlined peg board. All the paint cans are neatly stacked and labeled in the cabinet. Nuts and bolts gleaming in their organizer. Yeah, just the way you like it! But wait! Arent we forgetting something? Thats right , how about that dirty, oily concrete slab? Theres no better way to put the finishing touches on your garage project like a colorful, shiny epoxy floor coating. Why epoxy? Because epoxy not only tops off the pro look but also resists oil stains, beads water, and wipes clean like the counter in your kitchen. Want to hide those annoying imperfections in the concrete, make them dissapear with color chips and custom paint colors. And to keep things safe on those snowy days, add in an antiskid additive. Just like that, it takes two days to transform your average concrete slab into a showroom you and your car will appreciate for years. So lets get started! Shopping list
Now here are a few guidlines to go by in the planning and application of your epoxy floor covering
Six easy steps! 1. Cover the walls around the floor with the plastic sheeting. 2. Hose down the floor. 3. Clean the floor with a bristle broom and apporopriate cleaning solution and alow to dry completely befor going on to the next step. 4. Mix and roll on epoxy floor covering , cutting the edges as required. Work in 10'x10' sections. 5. Spread color flecks 6. Apply clear coat . Allow entire floor to dry for at least 24 hours. Hold off parking your car in the garage for another 72 hours after that to ensure proper epoxy adherence.
